Indications for Use

VitalStim Electrodes are intended for use with the VitalStim Therapy System for the treatment of dysphagia. They are indicated for:

Contraindications

VitalStim Electrodes should not be used in the following situations:

• Over tumors, malignant lesions, or infected areas.
• On the carotid sinus nerves, across or through the chest, over phrenic nerves, atranscollation sites (chest area), over metal implants (e.g., pacemaker), on patients with cardiac demand pacemakers and/or shortwave devices, in the pubic region during pregnancy or if you have a history of epilepsy.
• If you are using electronic monitoring equipment such as ECG monitors, because it may result in electrical interference.
• For use by children or individuals with physical or mental disabilities without the supervision of an adult caretaker.
