Product Details

The Stand-off II (15 mm) is engineered to provide practitioners with the stability and precision required for advanced aesthetic and medical laser treatments. Designed as a critical interface between the delivery system and the patient's skin, this component ensures the energy is delivered at the exact focal point necessary for clinical efficacy and patient safety. Built from durable, medical-grade materials, the Stand-off II withstands the rigors of high-volume clinics while maintaining its structural integrity over repeated cycles of use. It allows for effortless gliding across the treatment area, minimizing operator fatigue and ensuring the laser or light source remains at the optimal distance for skin cooling and effective energy absorption. By standardizing the distance between the handpiece and the tissue, this device removes variability from the treatment process, allowing providers to focus on technique and patient comfort.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Optimized Focal Precision: Specifically calibrated for 15 mm spot size applications, this gauge guarantees the laser beam hits the skin at the correct diameter and fluence, preventing the risks associated with defocusing.
  • Enhanced Visibility: The structural design maximizes the practitioner’s line of sight, allowing for clear visualization of the treatment endpoint and the skin reaction during the procedure.
  • Medical-Grade Durability: Constructed from high-strength, heat-resistant materials, the unit resists degradation from thermal exposure and chemical disinfectants, ensuring a long operational lifespan.
  • Patient Comfort and Safety: The smooth contact surface is designed to glide easily over the skin contours, reducing friction and ensuring that the distance gauge does not cause mechanical irritation during the treatment.
  • Secure Attachment Mechanism: Features a robust locking interface that attaches firmly to the handpiece, eliminating the risk of movement or detachment during active firing.
  • Simplified Maintenance: The non-porous surface facilitates rapid and effective cleaning and disinfection between patients, adhering to strict hygiene protocols.

Indications for Use

The Stand-off II (15 mm) is indicated for use with compatible laser and light-based systems requiring a fixed 15 mm distance gauge. It is appropriate for a variety of clinical applications, including but not limited to:

  • Laser Hair Reduction: For the treatment of unwanted hair on various body areas, ensuring consistent energy delivery to the follicle.
  • Pigmented Lesion Treatment: For the reduction of benign pigmented lesions where a 15 mm spot size provides adequate coverage and depth.
  • Vascular Treatments: Suitable for specific vascular applications where the 15 mm parameter is the recommended protocol.

Treatment Guidelines

To ensure the safety of the patient and the longevity of the device, please adhere to the following treatment and handling guidelines:

  1. Pre-Treatment Inspection: Before every session, visually inspect the Stand-off II for any signs of cracks, chips, or debris. A compromised distance gauge can alter the beam profile or cause scattering, potentially leading to adverse effects.
  2. Secure Installation: Ensure the device is audibly or tactilely clicked into the correct position on the handpiece. A loose stand-off may result in inconsistent cooling or improper energy delivery.
  3. Skin Contact Protocol: Maintain gentle, consistent contact with the skin. Do not press the gauge firmly into the tissue, as this may blanch the blood vessels (interfering with vascular targets) or alter the optical properties of the skin. Conversely, do not hover the gauge above the skin; it must remain flush for the optics to function correctly.
  4. Debris Management: During treatment, periodically check the interior of the stand-off for hair singe or other debris. Accumulation can absorb laser energy, leading to heating of the gauge or damage to the handpiece optics.
  5. Cleaning and Sterilization: Follow the specific manufacturer's instructions for cleaning. generally, this involves wiping the device with an alcohol-based wipe or suitable disinfectant between patients. Do not submerge in liquid unless specified by the manufacturer.
